Home Claims Procedure
To ensure your claim is processed quickly and efficiently, please ensure that you notify us of your particular claims as soon as reasonably possible. All written claim forms must be submitted within 30 days of the date of the event. The completed and signed claim form must be sent to your nearest MUA branch or your broker.
Claims arising from theft or other criminal act or where persons are injured must be immediately reported to the SAPS.
Here are few easy guidelines to help you with your claim:
- In the event of a claim of less than R 20 000, two replacement or repair quotations must be provided. If you have already replaced the damaged or lost goods, the replacement invoice must be provided.
- In the event of a burglary claim, the alarm activation report must be provided. You can ask your alarm service provider for this report.
- The claim form must be accompanied by any additional documentation substantiating the claim.
- Where the claim amount exceeds R 20 000, MUA will appoint an external loss adjuster from our panel of loss adjusters.
- Where possible, your claim will be settled within 72 hours of receipt of the required documentation.
