Cover for items stolen from unoccupied vehicles is subject to signs of forcible and violent entry. During 2011 many press releases were focused on thieves interfering with the locking devices of vehicles by way of using household remotes to block the signal of the vehicle remotes.  Therefore items were stolen from vehicles without signs of forcible and violent entry into the vehicle.

Technically when items are stolen from an unattended vehicle without signs of forcible and violent entry, it will not be covered by the insurance policy.  MUA and Compass created a way of adding a benefit to the policyholder in such an instance, covering items up to R 5 000.
