Tell us about your role at MUA
My position is that of Manager – Broker Relations. I am responsible for a portfolio of brokers which involves building and maintaining solid business relationships, promoting new business and assisting the brokers where possible to manage their portfolios with MUA successfully.
How did you get to this point?
I have been in the industry on a full-time basis since 1992, initially assisting my late husband in his brokerage and eventually joined MUA five years ago.
What do you think are some of the biggest challenges in your position?
There are many challenges in this industry and the ongoing premium war is probably one of the biggest in that one has to be competitive and maintain profitability, but I am a positive person and prefer to look at challenges as opportunities.
Would you recommend a career in insurance to young people?
Most definitely. This is a vast industry and for the individual with the right attitude, commitment and drive it holds the promise a good career.
Do you have a personal motto?
Yes – Integrity and a good attitude.
