The MUA Personal Policy

Experience in crafting the MUA Executive Policy over the decades has given rise to a demand for similar quality product aimed at a generation of successful clients that have not yet qualified for the MUA Executive Policy. Clients enjoy access to the full spectrum of personal lines classes, including buildings, contents, all risks and motor insurance.

The same attention and service excellence we are renown for is available for those with insured household contents exceeding R250,000 in value. With that comes access to our full spectrum of services. Some of the main features of this product includes, and is not limited to:

Building cover

•  Individuals over 55 not gainfully employed, enjoy the reward of an automatic basic excess waiver (*underwriting exceptions exist).
• Accidental damage cover, including power surge cover is included up to specified limits, with no limit per item. You also have the option to increase this cover at an additional nominal premium.
• Cover for the tracing of leaks.
• Cover for damage caused by wild baboons or monkeys.
• Cover for alterations and renovations to your home in the event of a serious injury.

Contents cover

•  Individuals over 55 not gainfully employed, enjoy the reward of an automatic basic excess waiver (*underwriting exceptions exist).
• Accidental damage cover, including power surge cover is included up to specified limits, with no limit per item. You also have the option to increase this cover at an additional nominal premium.
• Cover for damage to business equipment.
• Fatal injury cover.
• Golf hole-in-one and bowls full-house cover.
• Cover for money.

 All Risk cover

•  Individuals over 55 and no longer gainfully employed, enjoy the reward of an automatic basic excess waiver (*underwriting exceptions exist).
• Cover for theft out of vehicles as a result of remote jamming.
• Specified items are covered free of excess.

Motor cover

•  Cover options include comprehensive motor insurance; fire, theft and third party; third party only or laid-up cover.
• Total loss and theft claims are settled at reasonable retail value. Where the vehicle is less than one year old the formula for settlement is replacement cost of a new vehicle of the same or similar model.
• Individuals over 55 and no longer gainfully employed, enjoy the reward of an automatic basic excess waiver (*underwriting exceptions exist).
• We cover the difference in excess for a hired vehicle when your insured vehicle is subject to a claim with us.
• As an existing policyholder, you enjoy automatic cover for your newly purchased vehicle for the first 72 hours after you have taken possession should you forget to notify your broker.
• Cover for credit shortfall is available at an additional premium.
• Various car hire options are available at an additional premium.
• Cover of legal liability to third parties including passenger liability. Jurisdiction is South Africa and territorial limits for third party legal liability extends to any Sub-Saharan African country.

 The MUA Personal policy also offers cover for your motorcycle, caravan, trailer and watercraft.
